Compatibility check:This series is designed for compatible single-capacitor, single-phase 220V motors. It cannot be used with dual-capacitor motors. Confirm the motor type, rated current and load before ordering.

Is This the Right VFD for Your Motor?

A single-phase output VFD is different from the more common single-phase-input, three-phase-output drive. Match the VFD to the motor construction—not only to the supply voltage.

Suitable Applications

  • Compatible single-capacitor 220V AC motors
  • Light-load fans, pumps and axial fans
  • Motor rating from 0.4kW up to 2.2kW
  • Applications requiring adjustable speed and soft starting

Not Suitable

  • Dual-capacitor single-phase motors
  • Three-phase motors
  • Loads beyond the selected model's motor rating
  • Applications not confirmed against motor and load data

KD4000-1S Model Selection

Choose by the adapted motor rating and motor nameplate current. Do not select only by the kW printed in the VFD model name.

Simple, Motor-Specific Wiring

For a compatible single-capacitor motor, the KD4000-1S supports direct connection without disassembling the motor capacitor. This makes it practical for retrofitting suitable existing fan and pump systems.

  • Isolate the mains supply before wiring.
  • Confirm that the motor is a compatible single-capacitor type.
  • Connect protective earth and follow the terminal diagram supplied with the VFD.
  • Enter the motor nameplate data before the first run.
  • Start at low frequency and verify current, direction and load behavior.

Installation and commissioning should be completed by qualified electrical personnel.

Typical Applications

The KD4000-1S is intended mainly for light-load single-phase motor applications where speed adjustment, smoother starting and process control are required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a normal VFD run a single-phase motor?

Most standard VFDs are designed for three-phase motors. Use a drive whose output and control method are specifically designed for a compatible single-phase motor, such as the KD4000-1S.

Can the KD4000-1S be used with a dual-capacitor motor?

No. The KD4000-1S product specification states that it cannot be used with dual-capacitor motors.

Do I need to remove the motor capacitor?

For a compatible single-capacitor motor, the KD4000-1S supports direct wiring without disassembling the motor capacitor. Always follow the model-specific wiring diagram.

How do I choose the correct model?

Check the motor type, rated voltage, kW, nameplate current and load. Select a model whose adapted-motor rating and output current meet the application; ask KARDA to confirm uncertain or high-starting-load cases.

Need Help Matching Your Single-Phase Motor?

Send KARDA a clear motor-nameplate photo, the capacitor type, load description and required speed range. We will help confirm compatibility and select the appropriate KD4000-1S model.
